Erik Madigan Heck is an artist working in both film and photography and is represented by Christophe Guye Galerie, Zurich, Staley-Wise Gallery, New York, Weinstein-Hammons Gallery, Minneapolis, and Nicholas Metivier Gallery, Toronto. His work has received numerous awards including the prestigious International Center of Photography’s Infinity Award, The Art Director’s Club Gold Medal, and The American Photography award for his Old Masters Portfolio published by The New York Times Magazine.
In 2018 Heck’s work became the focus of multiple solo museum surveys including The Musée des Beaux-Art in Le Locle, Switzerland, and The Multimedia Arts Museum in Moscow, Russia. In 2019 Heck relaunched ‘Nomenus’, a bi-annual printed journal focusing on the intersection between photography and painting, where he collaborates with an array of likeminded artists and institutions. Heck is also a regular contributor to The New York Times Magazine, TIME, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, and Harper's Bazaar; and is the author of the monograph ‘Old Future’ published by Thames & Hudson and Abrams, The Absorbed Tradition, No Photos Please, and January to August.
